E Bikes welcome!
This ride will be a partial shuttle up parleys (and avoid the first 1400ft of climbing and recover the cars afterwords) so the number of attendees will be limited to the number of bikes we can take up the hill/recovery cars. In other words, we'll need cars/trucks which can carry 3-4 bikes and 3-4 people. I can take 4/4 in my truck. So please post in the comments/message me if you can help with the shuttle.
This ride is completed in about 2-2 1/2 hours including breaks and is recommended for ADVANCE riders only but doable by most EXPERIENCE riders (no new riders pls). In other words you have to be comfortable riding steep and rooty trails (Insurgent or Red Bull in PC as reference...if you cant this ride those type of trails this ride is not for you)
After we start rolling, we will be riding between the houses to connect with the sheep trail. Some short and non technical (but lung buster) climbing sections along the way. After we get to the top of the intended route, we will pad up as we'll have a VERY technical "adventuresque" descent! It's "off grid". Not on the maps (this trail is not on trail forks and we prefer to keep it that way). It will VERY challenging and steep, chances we will get muddy and wet since sections of this trail will be next to/over a creek, so you might want to bring a towel and/or change of clothes for after the ride. The night ride will make it extra spicy :)
Be at the parking area ready to roll by 11:00 am.
We will meet in the parking lot for Alexander Creek Trail. To get there from salt Lake City, take I-80 eastbound to the East Canyon exit. Make a left at the stop sign and follow the road past Mountain Dell golf course and you will see the gate soon after on the right side of the road. (see google map on the comments)
What do you need for this ride?:
-Good attitude
-Good Night Riding lights (mandatory)
-bike and helmet (make sure your tires and bike are in good condition)
-gloves and a light jacket-it in case weather changes.
-water and snacks for the ride.
-spare tube, mini pump, multitool for trail side repairs.
The descents on this trail will be on a black/double black trail so protection pads are highly recommended. Also, sections of this ride might be overgrown so sheen guards/ long socks area a must.
Any questions? Post it to the comments section below or email me through the group.
Hope to see you there!
P.S. I drive a white Nissan Frontier and I ride a black Levo.
