Water Canyon is located west of Soccoro NM off Hwy 60. It has a trail that travels up the side of the mesa wall that goes past an old mining town. There is or was a horizontal shaft that you could enter and also a shaft going down that did not look all that inviting. If your the adventourous type bring a headlamp for light and take your chances. Remember that entering ANY MINE IN NM IS DANGEROUS! Your on your own. Total driving distance is about 100 miles, all on pavement. I hope to hike around 5=8 miles. People tell me the trail is hard to find and it's been many years since I've been there, so we'll do our best at finding the trail and hopefully the distance is about right. NO DOGS OR WHINERS! I would rate this hike as MODERATE, if we find the trail. Elevation gain of about 1000 feet. For more information, ask your questions below and I'll answer below. Be prepared to reimburse your drivers at the rate of $.10 per mile round trip or about $20 for the day. I will probably stop somewhere in Soccoro for dinner on the way home, so feel free to join me if you wish. We will leave SAVERS at 8AM! If your late meet us at Water Canyon.

Come join us for bowling each Monday at Silva Lanes. The goal is meeting friends, having fun and even improve your scores! The price is only $1.00/game. 😁

Rental shoes are available; all bowlers must wear bowling shoes. Upon completion of each bowlers play, please go to the front desk and pay for your games (and shoe rental).

RSVPs are appreciated, as it helps to obtain enough lanes; lane availability is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Our bowlers typically play 2-4 games.

IF YOU RSVP, BUT THEN CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RSVP AT LEAST 1 HOUR BEFORE OUR START TIME, OR SOONER (no later than 11:30 a.m., day of event). THANK YOU FOR UPDATING.

Until further notice, due to High School league play, our start time is 12:30, in order to finish up our play by 3:30. (Once league play has completed, I’ll change our start time back to 1:00, and end 4:30.) Typically, I post our lane assignments in the event comments section as soon as they are provided.

Our bowlers appreciate using standard "bowling etiquette" practices. Thanks for being polite!

For Mondays affected by a Federal holiday, on which school is typically closed, the event date will be cancelled. (On those days, it is often difficult to obtain lanes and, especially, get lanes near each other.) This is why the event date was skipped in the Albuquerque Singles Group Events Calendar.

This time we're westside bound! Ironwood Kitchen is a favorite of mine. It's a very good little diner with good food and good coffee. With food, beverage, and tip, you'll spend $20-$25.

This spot is set up for smaller parties but they don't mind when we move tables together. With that in mind, I'm settinng attendance at 12. Too many more than that and I can't really talk to everyone!

If you end up on the waitlist, please check the morning of the event. Many times people drop out at the last minute. If you've RSVP'd YES and your plans change, please change your RSVP to NOT GOING. That frees up a spot for someone on the waitlist.
