This talk is all about what OpenTelemetry is and why you should care (especially if you are a backend developer). We’ll take a look at why OpenTelemetry was created, what it is, and how traces, logs, and metrics fit into the picture. I’ll close the talk with a live demonstration of a simple Web API to show how I use OpenTelemetry for local development and in production.👤 Volkmar Rigo

🏢 Infominds📢 Learn, grow, teach -> repeat: how to be the senior that you needed when you were a junior engineer
As an engineer, when joining a new company/project we mostly face similar challenges: We join teams where existing members are faced with a high workload and lack the time to properly onboard new members.
We get into a project, have to work with nearly non-existent documentation, over time gain a deep understanding of the system, and adapt to the established tools and processes. In larger teams and structures, you grow and take on a lead role, onboard new people, eventually passing your responsibilities onto your former juniors.
Then your journey continues - with new challenges and responsibilities.
In this talk (or even group therapy session) I want to highlight common antipatterns, how to counter them and how to improve the structure for your teammates.👤 Romedius Weiss
