Meet at 6:45 am Hike starts promptly at 7:00 am, for Appalachian Mountain Club Hike. (AMC)
Join me for a 5 mile moderate paced hike at picturesque Washington Crossing State Park NJ.
We will start out on the canal for about a mile. Then cross river road at a traffic signal walk past a church and cemetery, then get on a trail into Washington crossing park. We will hike to the nature center; there we will take a short 5-minute break. There are restrooms there hopefully they are open, usually open on weekends but not on weekdays. From there we will take a red maybe blue or green dot trail depending on what trail we take. Towards the end of the hike we will pass the construction of the new visitor center of Washington State park. Then cross river road at another traffic signal back to our cars.
We will hike on canal, wooded, meadow and some paved trails. We'll do about 300 ft total elevation. The trail does have sections that can be a bit wet, muddy, and uneven, Wooded trails can be rocky.
Bring sturdy footwear and water.
