• Difficulty: Medium — distance ~9 km, elevation gain ~510 m, uneven terrain
• Activity breakdown: ~90% hiking, ~10% interpretation and points of interest

What to expect
• Moderate/moderately challenging hiking on varied terrain with short rests and explanation stops (requires good fitness!).
• The final route and duration may change for safety reasons (weather, obstacles, etc.). The professional guide will adapt the itinerary as needed.
• Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs; some sections are steep and rocky.

VERTICAL LAZIO — Hike Sgurgola: Spartacus’ Village & the Sacco Valley 🥾🌿

Discover a hidden corner of Lazio about an hour from Rome: Sgurgola, a village once founded as a fortress by Spartacus, now a charming hamlet encircling castle ruins. This guided loop hike moves from the train station into the old town, then up through forested trails to reveal dramatic views, history, and the wild side of the Sacco Valley.

Who this is for
- Experienced hikers, adventurous expats and travelers who are comfortable with sustained uphill walking and uneven terrain.
- Not recommended for beginners, those with mobility limitations, or small children without adequate experience.

Meeting & logistics
- Please meet 15 minutes before departure at Sgurgola Train Station to check gear and receive a short safety briefing.
- The guide reserves the right to alter the route or duration for safety or weather reasons.
- Transport to/from the trail, food, and attraction entrance fees are NOT included.

SUNSET EXPERIENCE — A Guided Hike in the Parco Regionale dei Monti Simbruini

What to expect
- A special evening hike up Mt. Autore through a scenic beech forest, enjoying evening light, seasonal colors and wide views.
- Route may be altered (shortened/extended) for safety or weather — final decision by the professional guide.
- Professional, licensed guide (registered with AIGAE). This activity complies with EU and Italian law no. 4/2003.

Meeting & transport
- Transport is NOT included. The hike is set up for car-pooling.
- Important: Message the organizer before booking if you need a carpool seat or can offer one. We’ll facilitate matches but cannot guarantee transport.
