Lidia Poët is a fundamental figure in the story of Italy and the fight for the rights of women. She is known as the first female lawyer of Italy, even though, for many years, she was prevented from practising her profession. Her life is a fine example of determination, courage and civic commitment, at a time when women had very few legal and social rights. In this reading, we will learn of her early life, her educational achievements to become a lawyer, her exclusion from the profession, her fight for the rights of women and her eventual recognition as a lawyer.
Lidia Poët è una figura fondamentale nella storia italiana e nella lotta per i diritti delle donne. È conosciuta come la prima donna avvocata d’Italia, anche se per molti anni le fu impedito di esercitare ufficialmente la professione. La sua vita rappresenta un esempio di determinazione, coraggio e impegno civico in un periodo storico in cui le donne avevano pochissimi diritti legali e sociali. In questa lettura, scopriremo la sua giovinezza, il suo successo scolastico per diventare avvocata, la sua esclusione dalla professione, la sua lotta per i diritti delle donne ed il suo eventuale riconoscimento come avvocata.
