Forget about Cologne, Venice and Rio: when it comes to Carnival, there's only one place where we want to be: Bellinzona!

This year our favourite Carnival will feature chariots about Donald Trump, the winter olympics in Italy, a scandal involving a head of state jet, the death of FM radio and much more! Let's then have a 21st expedition to Bellinzona, capital town of Italian speaking Switzerland, where the music and chaos of more than 50 Carnival chariots will collide with the majesty and elegance of the fortified town.

As usual, the idea is to have a warm-up hike in the morning, before attending the parade in the afternoon and finishing the day with dinner at the Cat Cellar.

About the hike:
more details will be published, when we know the weather forecast

Recap of meeting points:
10:40 ?? for the hike
14:00 at the Bellinzona parade, in front of the Manora store
17:00 at Montebello castle

Good news: once again, the Carnival ticket entitles us to free train transportation across Canton Ticino (i.e. Italian-speaking Switzerland). This means that, if you're coming from Milan, you'll just need to purchase a Milan-Chiasso ticket (which is around 12 euro for the round trip) and the Carnival ticket, which can be bought for around 11 euros (hint: if you want to save 10 cents, don't say you're Italian!)

Suggested trains (from Milano):
from Milano: Milano Centrale 8:43 ?? 10:xx
