Nebula: A Smarter Way to Design Power BI Reports - with Nina Urbancic

Nebula is BI Samurai’s free Power BI custom visual that helps designers build structured and visually consistent report layouts — directly within Power BI. It acts as a flexible design layer that replaces the need for external design tools, allowing users to manage alignment, spacing, and layout directly on the report canvas.

In this session, we’ll introduce Nebula and explain how to get it from AppSource. We’ll discuss why report design matters — how a clear, structured layout improves readability, usability, and user trust.
Then, we’ll recreate a simple report layout using an external tool to illustrate the typical pain points: time-consuming adjustments, alignment nudging, and repeated re-exports whenever changes occur. Finally, we’ll show how the same layout can be built directly in Power BI using Nebula — in a cleaner, faster, and more controlled way.
