This is a discussion focused event where participants share their ideas, thoughts regarding whether Chinese Canadians idolize White people.

Do you feel that some Chinese Canadians date white people just to ‘level up’ their social status?

Have you noticed people in your family or community treating white people with more respect or deference than others? Why do you think that is? Fear of their power?

Do Chinese Canadians view whiteness as the standard for beauty, success, or intelligence? Do we associate success, beauty, intelligence with whiteness?

Have you ever seen Chinese Canadians undermine or look down on other minorities while praising white people?

Why do some Chinese Canadians prefer having white teachers, doctors, or mentors over someone from their own or another minority background?

How to find us:
We will meet at food court at Waterpark Place at Bay and Queen's Quay (enter from Bay street, go up the escalator; the PATH system also leads directly to our meeting place from Union Station), look for Tony (pictured host) wearing black seated in the section adjacent to Tim Hortons.

Rules:
Raise your hand to speak: To ensure everyone has an equal opportunity and time to share, please raise your hand, and I’ll call on those who haven’t spoken much yet. You don’t have to wait for others to finish—feel free to raise your hand at any time, and I’ll take note.

Stay on topic: Everyone is here for a reason, so let’s be mindful of their time and keep the discussion focused.

Confidentiality: We often discuss sensitive topics, and to create a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing, let's agree to keep what is said in this meetup private and not share it with others outside the group.

Please come on time: I explain the rules at the beginning of the meetup, when people are late I am unable to explain the rules whenever a late comer arrives.
