Kyoto English Book Club Meetup to discus “James” by Percival Everett

1. We'll discuss “James” by Percival Everett (320 pages long)
About the book: A reimagining of Huckleberry Fin from the perspective of Fin’s traveling companion, the titular fugitive slave ‘Jim’. A Pulitzer Prize finalist in its release year, it has been described as both humorous and tramatic
2. Participants are asked to have either read the whole book or at least
one third of it before the meetup.
3. We'll meet on June 14th. The meetup is to start at 14:00 jst. The participants are expected to come to the venue a few minutes before we officially start at 14:00.
4. The venue is "Cafe Veloce Karasuma Takoyakushi" a coffee shop near to Shijo Subway Station. It is alongside Karasuma-dohri (Karasuma Street).
5. What to discuss: our discussion will start off on discussion points(questions) related to the story, which are pre-prepared by the organizer/co-organizer. Then we will move on to your general impression of the story, what parts were difficult fo to understand, how you liked the story, and so on. Our discussion will be entirely conducted in English.
