Japanese Sake Tasting Course
Japanese Sake is brewed with Japanese rice, rice koji and water; it is a 100% rice-based beverage. It has a rich rice flavor that stimulates your taste buds and really compliments the Japanese meals of autumn. "Hiyaoroshi" is the seasonal sake for October. Pasteurized in spring and allowed to mature over the summer, it tastes even better than freshly brewed sake. Our Japanese sake specialist “Jun Okuma” will lead this Hiyaoroshi "Sake Tasting Course”. Along with enjoying some traditional snacks, you will learn about the different flavor characteristics and the exquisite flavors of both warm and cold sake. Bento Making Course
The bento is a unique part of Japanese food culture. From the appetizer to desert, all parts of your meal are included in the bento box. It’s exciting just to look at the beautiful colors. On our “Bento-making Course” you will learn how to create all the essential bento ingredients, from the “rice ball” and “tamagoyaki” (Japanese omelet) to the vegetables and desert. Our Koji cuisine expert Joei Asari will teach you how to use “Koji” to improve the flavor of foods such as the “rice ball” and “tamagoyaki”. After making your bento, you will receive a set of chopsticks and take your bento home in a “furoshiki” or Japanese wrapping cloth.
