Picnic and BBQ S'mores at Haru-no-Ogawa Play Park!

Haru-no-Ogawa Play Park

**IF IT RAINS WE WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE (unless anyone knows a good indoor alternative ?? ** **************************************************************************** Newcomers welcome! This is a meetup for parents trying to keep their children using English in Japan. So please observe the "No Japanese rule" (including parents), as its so easy for the children to switch to speaking Japanese if someone starts using it (most kids go to a local school and are also fluent in Japanese) . I understand smaller kids can't understand this rule and may occasionally use Japanese . Please understand we (other parents) may be correcting (speaking back in English) if this happens. Other than this rule I try to keep everything very casual and laid back. **************************************************************************** Place: https://goo.gl/maps/tPBiXkJL8TD2 ・Hi, this playground right next to Yoyogi park is a mud-park with a small pool and a water hose which little ones will love. It also has several structures including a tree house, and a tire swing. Big kids can try making things on their own using the saws, hammer, nails and wood available for free. My daughter and I will arrive around 12AM and stay for several hours (until she gets tired), but please feel free to stay longer (or come earlier); its a great park. There is also a regular playground nearby with swings and slides if your child asks for those. Yoyogi Fukamachi Mini Park https://goo.gl/maps/mB8MHbeyHxG2 ・S'mores As this place allows using fire, I am thinking of creating a small campfire, maybe just large enough to roast some marshmallows. I will bring the ingredients (chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallows). • What to bring I will bring our large (for 4-6 people) picnic sheet, but if you have a spare it may help. Bring some lunch, towels and spare clothes (children will likely get dirty! The park also has a rack full of free second hand clothing if you need extra but recently they are lacking clothing for bigger (>4yr ) children ). You can bring some favorite toys but the park has lots of material to play with. The nearest stores are the Lawson stores in front of the stations (Yoyogi-kouen and Yoyogi-hachiman). There are also several shops around that have takeout (e.g. Little Nap Coffee Stand). • Important to know Shoes easily get muddy so don't wear too good ones (including parents)!
