Lehigh Valley Humanists is a chapter of the American Humanist Association. As secular humanists, we strive to bring about a progressive society where being good without a god is an accepted way to live life.
Humanism encompasses a variety of non-theistic views (atheism, agnosticism, rationalism, naturalism, secularism, and so forth) while adding the important element of a comprehensive worldview and a set of ethical values grounded in the philosophy of the Enlightenment, informed by scientific knowledge, and driven by a desire to meet the needs of people in the here and now. We promote human rights, civil liberties, the scientific method, and the democratic process in an open, secular, and humane society.
Lehigh Valley Humanists provides education, support, and outreach about humanism in an effort to build a vibrant community based around a positive ethical life-stance.

すべて見る- Sunday Speaker Series — An Absurdly Inaccurate History of Stuff… with songs!Between the Lines Studio Theatre, Allentown, PA
Have you ever wondered about the history of the remote control, cowboys, dams, guitars, chocolate, recording technology, Valentine's Day, pianos, and other stuff? Well— you’ll need to keep wondering seeing as George Hrab’s “An Absurdly Inaccurate History of Stuff… with songs!” covers those topics but does so with absolutely zero accurate information. This hilarious presentation of very fake histories of very real subjects is interspersed with some of George’s songs, that surprisingly are much more factually accurate than anything in his lecture. Go figure.
George Hrab is an accomplished drummer, guitarist, pianist, and songwriter who has written and released eight albums plus a full-length, live concert film. Best known in his hometown of Bethlehem as the longtime drummer for The Philadelphia Funk Authority, George is the sparkling personality behind more than 850 episodes of The Geologic Podcast. Ranging in tone from incredibly serious to unbearably silly, his award-winning show features weekly musings about science, music, comedy, and life at large.
George is also co-creator and host of both the multi-generational game show, Boomer vs. Zoomer and the touring educational roadshow, A Skeptical Extravaganza of Special Significance. He has published two books of humorous essays: Non-Coloring Book, and Spiritual Healing & Balance Through Colonic Regularity. His commitment to science communication has led him to emcee countless conferences and conventions all over the world. He’s been a TEDx speaker (Rethinking Doubt: The Value and Achievements of Skepticism) and has presented multiple talks about the importance of critical thinking, science appreciation, dealing with grief, and popular culture.

https://apollogrill.com/More than 7 years ago, LVH’s first Lunching Secularly took place at Apollo Grill. Although we haven’t been back since our inaugural event, Apollo Grill is a wonderful location for a leisurely lunch with friends. I hope you can join me this month for some delicious food, excellent service, and our usual enjoyable conversations.
There is plenty of parking in the Broad Street lot just up the street and in the North Street parking garage which even has 4 EV charging stations.
Our lunch bunch is a warm and welcoming group and we truly hope you join us, whether for a brief lunch away from work or a longer, leisurely afternoon filled with food, drink, and good conversations. Either way, our lunches are informal and fun times to meet some fellow Humanists. Newcomers and children always are welcome!
