📌 Event Description
Mercari is focusing on the areas of CS and CRE, where CRE stands for Customer Reliability Engineering, a profession advocated by Google.
In this area, the CS team is responsible for improving the customer experience through inquiries from customers, and also for ensuring the safety and security of the marketplace. In addition, the CRE team contributes to the creation of a system and platform to support the CS team's work in order to improve customer confidence.

In this Tech Talk, we would like to talk about related microservices and Machine Learning technologies under the title of "Technologies to support safety and security". If any of you are interested in hearing what these and other technical talks are all about, please join us!

📌 Speakers Profiles
Opening talk/Kenta Shimada @kentan
I joined Mercari in September 2018 as a Tech Lead for the Backend teams and currently playing Engineering Manager at Customer Reliability Engineering Camp. At the team, I am managing a feature team where backend and machine learning engineers belong. Before Mercari, I worked as a full stack engineer in the US and Japan for more than 10 years.

TnS / Yuki Ito @kikki
Joined Mercari as an intern in July 2016 (Joined as a new graduate in April 2019.). Worked in CS as an operator, an analyst and a technical project manager to improve services from VoC and to build the next generation of CS operations, then changed jobs to PdM. Currently working as PO/PM in TnS area, leading the development of violation monitoring systems and other systems for trust and safety at Mercari.

Joined Mercari as a new graduate in October 2018. Worked as an engineer for content moderation in Mercari US and then moved to Mercari JP. Currently working as Tech Lead in TnS team, which is responsible for violation monitoring systems and other systems for customer safety.

CSTool / Lau Wai Ting @waiting.lau
Joined Mercari in March 2018. Worked as a backend engineer for in-house CSTool. Currently working as Tech Lead in CSTool team, leading the development of next-generation CSTool and transforming the backend team into a cross-functional team.

CRE-ML / Hsien-Chi Liu @Tobyliu
Joined Mercari as a new graduate in October 2018. Currently working as an Machine Learning engineer for modeling and serving systems of violation message detection for the Trust and Safety domain.
