According to this belief, on the first and fifteenth days of each lunar month, individuals avoid eating meat and choose to eat vegetarian food instead. This practice is meant to purify the body and mind, reduce desires, and cultivate moral virtues.
For Buddhists, the idea is rooted in compassion for all living beings, as eating vegetarian food is seen as a way of avoiding harm to animals. For Taoists, it is about maintaining balance and harmony within the body and soul. Additionally, many people believe that by following this practice, they can accumulate good karma, receive blessings, and pray for peace and protection for themselves and their loved ones.

Please be on time meeting at 6:30pm downstairs in the restaurant entrance as our tables won’t be provided unless we are all there. Late comers may not be able to sit with us and you may have to wait for another table.
