After a successful event in August 2020 on the challenges that diverse young women and men face in the tech industry (watch video: https://tinyurl.com/y5ygmeph), enjoi Diversity & Innovation Consulting, WomEnpowered International, We Speak Equality, , and Women who Code Tokyo have partnered up to host a global panel focusing on solutions that will support gender equality in the tech industry.
In our first event, we discussed the challenges individual women and men face and how gender inequality plays out within the tech industry and attitudes around STEM. Too often D&I initiatives are inspired by a narrow focus on individual-level analyses that actually can stereotype and ignore the internal diversity of affected groups. This can lead to ineffective “band aid” initiatives and programs that do not deliver lasting change and that fail to create a holistic, diversity-positive corporate culture.
In this upcoming event, we turn our focus to systemic-level solutions that will help companies overcome these challenges, and that specifically lay the groundwork for sustainable solutions that foster equality in the workplace.
-
What can we do to foster gender equality in the tech industry?
-
What solutions are working and which ones are NOT working?
-
How have in-house D&I professionals, equality-seeking researchers, and policy makers approached these challenges in different countries?
-
What advice do these D&I experts have to guide us forward?
Join our online event on 29th January 2021 (9pm JST) to learn more. In this global panel featuring Japan-based enjoi D&I Consulting’s Jackie F. Steele and three (3) of her esteemed enjoi D&I thought partners as they share about the kinds of solutions that drive systemic, holistic change for lasting social impact in the tech industry.
