Shimogamo Shrine “Nagashi-bina” & Spring Culture Walk in Kitayama

◆ Tour Overview
This is a special walking tour held on Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day).
We will watch the traditional “Nagashi-bina” ritual at Shimogamo Shrine and then visit cultural spots in the Kitayama area.
You can enjoy a beautiful traditional ritual for good health, modern and contemporary cultural sites, and a relaxing walk in a spring garden.

◆ Places to Visit
▷ Kawai Shrine
A shrine famous for beauty prayers
Known for blessings for beauty, health, and youth
Admission free

▷ Shimogamo Shrine
・Nagashi-bina ritual (starts at 11:00 a.m.)
・Walk around the shrine grounds
Admission free
Straw dolls with hina-arare snacks are available for a fee
In this ArtWalk, you'll enjoy the atmosphere of part of the ritual (around 11:00 for about 45 minutes) at a relaxed pace. If you wish to see the entire ritual from the beginning, we recommend visiting individually early in the morning.

▷ Kyoto Botanical Garden
Enjoy spring flowers and plants
Greenhouse and garden walk
Admission fee:
Adults: 500 yen

・IN THE GREEN (pizza)
・Channoi (Thai food)
Optional:
After the tour, those who wish may visit Saryo Hosen (Japanese tea house).
If there is enough time, we may also stop by a popular bakery during the walk.

◆ About Nagashibina Viewing / Notes ◆
・In this ArtWalk, you'll enjoy the atmosphere of part of the ritual (around 11:00 for about 45 minutes) at a relaxed pace. If you wish to see the entire ritual from the beginning, we recommend visiting individually early in the morning.
※ Tips for enjoying the full ritual
・Nagashibina (floating dolls): Secure a spot by the river early in the morning (starts at 11:00)
・Jūnihitoe dressing: Secure a spot at the shrine grounds early in the morning (starts at 10:30)
Both are held at separate locations, making it difficult to see everything perfectly.

This event is for people who want to enjoy culture and history together.
People involved in multi-level marketing, politics, religion, or ideological groups, or people who may disturb others, cannot join.

下鴨神社「流し雛」と春の北山文化さんぽ

◆ツアー概要
ひなまつりの日に行われる、下鴨神社の伝統行事「流し雛」を見学し、その後は北山エリアの文化施設を巡る季節限定のウォーキングです。
無病息災を願う古式ゆかしい神事と、近代・現代文化施設、春の植物園散策をあわせて楽しみます。

※全行程を楽しむヒント
・流し雛：早朝から川辺で場所取り（11:00開始）
・十二単着付け：早朝から境内神社で場所取り（10:30開始）
両方完璧に見るのは別場所のため困難です
