NIHONGO TalkRoom is a Japanese-only space for curious, expressive learners.
This group is for curious, passionate learners who want to go beyond textbooks and start thinking in Japanese — not just about Japanese.
This is not a language exchange.
NIHONGO TalkRoom is conducted almost entirely in Japanese.
It’s a space to immerse, think, and express — in your own rhythm, in your own tone.
Many learners say:
“I want to speak Japanese, but everyone switches to English.”
“Even my Japanese friends or partner prefer English.”
“I can speak Japanese… but I always say the same few things.”
Here, you can listen, speak, and make mistakes — all in Japanese.
And you are the one who leads the conversation.
I can offer support in English if needed, but I’ll always respond in Japanese.
It’s totally fine to start by just listening — like taking a gentle shower of Japanese.

ようこそ、NIHONGO TalkRoomへ。
ここは、日本語で自分らしく話したい方のための会話グループです。
雑誌や書籍の編集者・現役ライターとして、20年以上“言葉”を仕事にしてきた主催者が、日本語で自分らしく話したい方々のために運営している会話グループです。
教科書や語学アプリでは身につかない、「表現の深さ・自然さ・自分らしさ」を、日本語というツールを通して体得していきます。
この会は、語学交換ではありません。
原則「日本語のみ」で進行し、参加者それぞれが自分のペースと言葉で、自分らしく表現する時間を大切にしています。
たくさんの学習者から、
「せっかく日本語を勉強しているのに、話す機会がない」
「パートナーや友人が英語で話したがる」
「日本語は話せるけど、いつも同じ表現ばかり」
そんな声をたくさん聞いてきました。
聞いて、話して、間違えて。すべて日本語で体験してください。
そして、あなた主導で話してください。
必要に応じて英語でのサポートも可能ですが、返答は基本的に日本語です。
「まずは聞くだけ」もOK。日本語のシャワーを浴びる感覚でご参加くださいね。
表現・語感・言葉の背景に敏感な方、日本語を通してもっと自由に思考したい方におすすめです。
もちろん、日本人のご参加も歓迎です！
