Dye your own piece of Japan in indigo — at a hidden Kyoto studio

詳細
Join us for a rare chance to step inside Konya Indigo Studio, a historic private workshop in the quiet Katsura area of Kyoto, and experience Hon-Ai 「本藍染」— traditional Japanese indigo dyeing using only natural fermentation.
This is not a tourist trap — but a living, breathing studio run by local artisans with deep respect for materials, process, and nature.
You’ll dye your own handkerchief, cotton shawl, or silk scarf — and take it home that day.
The smell of fermentation, the transformation of color, and the quiet attention to detail — this is a meditative, mindful craft, suitable for all ages.
