This meetup is for ThinkPad users only.

Not “people who once touched a ThinkPad in an office.”
Not “people who respect ThinkPads spiritually.”
Not “MacBook users who are ThinkPad-curious.”
Actual ThinkPad users.

If your machine is black, sturdy, serious, and looks like it could survive a board meeting, a Linux install, and a minor apocalypse, you may belong here.

Windows? Fine.
Ubuntu? Excellent.
Fedora? Respectable.
Arch? Of course you were going to mention it.
Other OS? Also welcome.
But the machine must be a ThinkPad.

This is a meetup for people who appreciate:

• that legendary black-box design
• keyboards that still mean business
• the red TrackPoint, humanity’s greatest tiny red dot
• Linux on ThinkPad, one of the most correct combinations in modern civilization
• exchanging tips on productivity, setup, customization, and making the most of these machines

We’ll start with a fun icebreaker sheet full of funny and oddly specific ThinkPad questions that only ThinkPad people will truly understand.
This is also a great place for business users who want to learn more about how to use their ThinkPad better, and for Linux users who want to share their setup wisdom with others.
And yes, Android users who use ThinkPads are especially welcome, because that is simply a superior life form.

My intro:
I currently use a ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 (Windows 11), and I recently bought a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13. My plan is to install Ubuntu on it and make it my new main machine.
If that sentence made sense to you emotionally, this meetup may be for you.

そんなThinkPadが好きな人のための、かなりニッチで楽しい集まりです。
このイベントは ThinkPadユーザー限定 の meetup です。
ThinkPadを日常的に使っている人、Linuxを入れて遊んでいる人、仕事で活用している人、キーボードやTrackPointに妙な愛着がある人、大歓迎です。
WindowsでもOK。
UbuntuでもOK。
FedoraでもArchでもその他のOSでもOK。
ただし、ThinkPadであることが参加条件 です。

この meetup では特にこんな方を歓迎します。

• ThinkPadにLinuxや他のOSを入れて使っている人
• ThinkPadをもっと便利に活用したいビジネスユーザー
• 設定、使いこなし、運用ノウハウを共有したい人
• AndroidもThinkPadも好きな人
  （この組み合わせ、かなり強いです）

最初のアイスブレイクでは、
「ThinkPadユーザーにしかわからない、ちょっと面白い質問」 を書いた紙を回して、会話のきっかけにしたいと思っています。
たとえば、
「TrackPoint、結局使ってる？」
「中古ThinkPadを見つけると、とりあえず気になる？」
「Linuxを入れた瞬間に“これが本来の姿かも”と思ったことある？」
……みたいな、ちょっとマニアックで、でもわかる人には妙にわかる感じのやつです。

ThinkPadのあの黒くて無骨なデザインって、やっぱり独特のかっこよさがありますよね。
派手ではないのに、妙に技術感があって、仕事にも開発にも似合う。
そんなThinkPadの魅力を、ゆるく楽しく語れたらと思っています。

ちなみに私自身は、今 ThinkPad X13 Gen 6（Windows 11） を使っていて、最近 ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 も買いました。これからUbuntuを入れて、新しいメインマシンにする予定です。
