グループの特徴

Most meetups are fun in the moment—language exchange, board games, walks...

But how many of those people do you actually talk to again?

Not because they weren’t nice.
But because building real, lasting friendships is hard.

  • 🕒 We’re busy
  • 🗺️ We live far apart
  • 📅 Our schedules don’t align
  • 😐 And sometimes, we just don’t click with the first person we sit next to

💫 This group is different.

We’re here for 縁つなぎ—the art of helping people connect in meaningful, intentional ways. And we’re here to help you find 仲間—not just people to hang out with, but companions on your journey.

🧵 縁つなぎ (en-tsunagi)
In Japanese, 縁 (en) refers to the invisible threads of fate that bring people together.
つなぎ (tsunagi) means to tie or link.
Together, 縁つなぎ means to create and strengthen these invisible threads—
to be the bridge between people who might never meet otherwise,
and to give those connections a chance to grow into something real.

👥 仲間 (nakama)
This word is often translated as “friends” or “group,” but it runs deeper.
仲間 are the people who walk alongside you.
Not always your closest friends. Not always people just like you.
But people who share your values, struggles, and hopes—
who support each other, grow together, and show up with intention.

🧭 How We Facilitate Connection
We meet in quiet parks (Hibiya, Shinjuku, or Shiba Park).

  • ☕ We’ll bring an outdoor table with drinks and snacks.
  • 🌳 We’ll stand so it’s easier to mingle—like a networking event, but for personal connection, not business.
  • Early in the meetup, we’ll each briefly share:
    • 👋 Why you’re here
    • 🔍 What kind of connection you’re hoping for
    • 🤔 Why that’s been hard to find lately

The more specific you are (“I’m looking for other parents who work irregular hours”),
the easier it is for people to help.

If someone’s unsure how to express what they want, ask questions, help them think it through. That is a form of connection. And if you realize it’s not a fit? That’s okay:

> “I don’t think I’m quite the match you’re looking for, and I don’t know anyone who is. But let’s keep in touch—if I meet someone who fits, I’ll let you know.
> And if you find someone who might match me, I’d appreciate the intro too.”

🌱 Give It a Chance
This group isn’t magic.
You might not meet your ideal match on your first try.
But we’re not here to find the perfect match.
We’re here to create it.
That means:

  • ✅ Being open to someone who’s 75% right, not 100%
  • 🤝 Knowing what you can compromise on
  • 💬 Focusing on shared values, not just shared interests
  • 📇 Exchanging contact info even if you’re not totally sure
  • 📲 Following up just once and seeing where it goes

Real friendships aren’t built with checklists.
They start when we let curiosity win over caution.
You don’t need to overshare.
You don’t need to settle.
But you do need to give people a real chance.

🛋️ The “Struck Out” Zone
Not every event will be your day. And that’s fine.
There’ll be a quiet corner—a bench, a spot near the snacks— where you can rest, reflect, or regroup.
It’s not a failure. It’s just a pause. Sometimes you’ll click. Sometimes you won’t. That’s just part of real connection.

### 🌱 More Experiments to Come

This networking based meetup is just one idea.
We’ll try different formats over time—quiet walks, creative workshops, partner activitie
and see what helps people create and deepen connections.
Everything we do is an experiment in 縁.
We don’t expect magic. But we do want meaning.
Whether you meet your lifelong friends or just feel more human for an afternoon, it’s worth it.

🤝 We’re Looking for Co-Organizers!
I don’t want to run this group alone.
If you care about:
🌟 connection
🌟 community
🌟 helping people find real 仲間
I’d love your help.
Even small things—hosting, messaging attendees, welcoming newcomers—make a big difference.
Let’s build this together 🧡
