🎋🗻👺 "TANABATA MATSURI" Japanese Summer Cultural Festival

Tanabata is an important festival in Japan on July 7. Traditionally, people write their wishes on strips of paper hang decorations on bamboo leaves, and pray to Orihime and Hikoboshi (the two stars that form a pair across the Milky Way) to make their wishes come true.

Then there will be events where you can enjoy various cultural experiences and food stalls associated with Japanese summer festivals. All events are guided in English and Japanese, so you can participate without worrying about language barriers.

🎋 Make a wish by writing Tanzaku
- Tanzaku is a piece of paper you can write down your wish and hang on bamboo trees.
🎋 Watermelon Smashing
- A blindfolded challenger splits a watermelon with a stick in their hand, relying only on the voices of those around them

🎋 Shooting Gallery
- Shooting Japanese snacks with a rubber gun
🎋 Making Cotton Candy
- A cotton-like confection made by collecting very thin strings of sugar or candy
🎋 Making Shaved Ice
- Shaving ice into small pieces and pouring syrup, etc. over the ice
🎋 Shuriken
- Throw "Shuriken" at the target
🎋 Fishing Bottle = Diao-chu-ping
- A classic Taiwanese game in which bottles are held up by a ring hanging from a string
🎋 Hit & Cover! Rock Paper Scissors
- Rock-paper-scissors to get the right to attack and hit the opponent's head before defending
🎋 Foot Pressure Point Sumo Wrestling
- Sumo wrestling where you ride on a foot mat and push each other with your hands

🎋 Yakitori
- Chicken skewered and grilled with sauce or salt
🎋 Grilled Rice Balls
- The surface of the nigiri rice is coated with soy sauce and grilled over
Fried Soba
🎋 Edamame
- Boiled soybeans, a Japanese izakaya staple
🎋 Squid Noodles
- Squid cut into thin noodle-like strips, seasoned with soy sauce, and deep-fried
🎋 Sweet Bean Jelly
- Japanese confectionery made by pouring red bean paste into a mold and hardening it with agar
🎋 Sweet Chestnuts
- Chestnuts are roasted in hot pebbles, and molasses is added to give them sweetness and luster

七夕とは7月7日に行わる日本の重要な節句のひとつで、願いごとを書いた短冊や飾りを笹の葉に吊るし、織姫と彦星（天の川を挟んでで対になる二つの星）にお祈りをして願いを叶えるという伝統があります。

そして日本の夏祭りにちなんだ様々な文化体験や屋台が楽しめるイベントを行います。全てのイベントは英語と日本語で案内されるため、言語を気にせずに参加できます。
