Jimbocho is a town where four "world's largest" attractions converge.

West of Surugadai Crossing lies the world's largest used bookstore district, north is the world's largest musical instrument store district, east stretches the world's largest sporting goods store district, and the entire town is Japan's premier "Curry Town", home to the highest concentration of curry restaurants.

Everywhere you walk, individuality and history come alive, captivating visitors.

Why not experience Japanese culture and enjoy international exchange through a stroll, immersing yourself in the charm of a place like Jimbocho?

Stroll through the retro streets, enjoy browsing antique bookstores and cafes, and sample gourmet treats from long-established eateries. Along the way, visit landmarks that showcase Jimbocho's history and culture. Through interaction with the guide and fellow participants, you'll make discoveries. This event lets you leisurely rediscover the profound charm of Jimbocho.

You'll also visit specially recommended antique bookstores, taking time to soak in their unique atmosphere.

After the tour ends, you can join one of our international exchange gatherings at a cafe, available until 11:00 PM.

📍 ENGLISH ONLY CAFE (3:15 PM)

📍 Sanseido Bookstore
One of Japan's largest and most renowned bookstores.
↓
📍 Monument to “I Am a Cat.”
Beside the main gate of Kinka Elementary School (now Ochanomizu Elementary School), where literary giant Natsume Sōseki studied as a child, stands a monument engraved with the opening lines of his masterpiece, “I Am a Cat.”

📍 Jimbocho
This neighborhood is renowned worldwide for its concentration of used bookstores. Centered around Yasukuni-dori Avenue, numerous used bookshops and publishers gather here, creating an atmosphere steeped in literature and scholarship. The surrounding area is also home to universities, long-established coffee shops, and famous curry restaurants, making it a beloved destination where cultural and culinary charms blend.

📍 Jimbocho Yoshimoto Manzai Theater
A comedy theater. Featuring live performances of manzai and skits daily, primarily by up-and-coming comedians. Its intimate space with 126 seats offers the appeal of feeling the performers' energy up close.

We return to the cafe.
You may stay at the cafe until 11:00 PM at the latest.

📚 Important Notice
- Please arrive at the cafe by 3:00 PM at the latest.
- After returning from the walk, you may join the social gathering until 11:00 PM at no additional charge.
- If you do not order a drink, a participation fee of ¥500 will be charged.
- Please note that joining the event after the cafe departure is not permitted.
- The event will proceed rain or shine. However, it will be canceled in the event of severe weather or other circumstances that make it difficult to hold. In such cases, you may participate in the international exchange activities at the cafe until the end.
- Please wear comfortable walking clothes and shoes.
- Please don't bring bicycles or similar items while walking.
- We will take breaks along the way to maintain a consistent pace. However, if someone is significantly slower than the group, we may depart without waiting.
- You may leave the tour at any point. If you wish, please inform an organizer, and we will direct you to the nearest station.

* Upon arrival, please pay 500 JPY upfront. After completing the evening walk and returning to the café, please pay the difference for your selected drink
* Please note that if you leave without returning to the café, no refund will be issued

* A one-time “Member Passport” issuance fee of 100 JPY applies

神保町は、4つの『世界一』が集まる街です。

駿河台交差点の西には世界最大の古書店街、北には世界最大の楽器店街、東には世界最大のスポーツ用品店街が広がり、そして街全体には日本で一番カレーのお店が集まる『カレーの街』です。

どこを歩いても個性と歴史が息づき、訪れる人を魅了します。

そんな神保町の魅力を感じながら、街歩きを通して日本の文化を体験し、国際交流を楽しみませんか。

レトロな街並みを散策しながら、古書店巡りやカフェ巡り、老舗グルメの食べ歩きなどを楽しめます。途中では、神保町の歴史や文化を感じられる名所にも立ち寄り、ガイドや参加者同士の交流を通じて、新たな発見ができるのも魅力です。のんびりと街を歩きながら、神保町の奥深い魅力を再発見できるイベントです。

また、特におすすめの古書店には実際に立ち寄り、店内の雰囲気をじっくりと見学することができます。

終了後はカフェにて最長午後11時まで各国際交流会に参加できます。

文豪・夏目漱石が幼いころに学んだ錦華小学校（現在のお茶の水小学校）の正門横には、代表作『吾輩は猫である』の冒頭部分を刻んだ記念碑が建てられています。

古書店街として世界的に知られる街です。靖国通りを中心に多くの古書店や出版社が集まり、文学と学問の香りが漂います。また、周辺には大学や老舗喫茶店、カレーの名店も多く、文化と食の魅力が融合した街として親しまれています。

📍 神保町よしもと漫才劇場
お笑い劇場です。若手芸人を中心に、漫才やコントなどのライブを毎日開催。客席数126席のアットホームな空間で、芸人の息づかいを間近に感じられる臨場感が魅力です。

- 雨天決行ですが、荒天等で実施が困難な場合は中止とし、その際は最後までカフェにて各国際交流会にご参加いただけます。
- 歩きやすい服装・靴でご参加ください。
- ウォーキング中の自転車などのお持ち込みはご遠慮ください。
- 道中は歩調を合わせるため、休憩を挟みながら進みますが、著しく歩くのが遅い方がいらっしゃる場合は、お待ちせずに出発することがあります。
- 途中での離脱も可能です。ご希望の方はオーガナイザーまでお知らせください。最寄りの駅をご案内いたします。
