MT. AZEGAMARU â FOREST & WATERFALLS
çŠã¶äžžïœæ·±ã森ãšæžæµã2ã€ã®æ»ãæ©ã
ð¬ð§ ABOUT
Tokyo is gradually becoming cooler in September.
This time, we're heading deeper into the mountains to experience the beautiful nature of western Tanzawa.
Our destination is Mt. Azegamaru, a quiet mountain surrounded by deep forests and mountain streams.
We'll first make our way up to the summit, where we'll stop for lunch. After lunch, we'll descend through the forest and visit two impressive waterfalls, Hondana Waterfall and Shimon-dana Waterfall.
The route includes mountain streams and several stream crossings. If it has rained recently, the waterfalls and streams can become especially impressive.
This is a hike for people who want to experience a wilder and quieter side of the Tanzawa mountains â deep forest, mountain streams, waterfalls, and a mountain summit.
The goal isn't to rush or reach the summit as quickly as possible. It's to enjoy the mountains together.
Take your time, enjoy the scenery, talk with other participants, and experience the changing landscape along the trail. ð¿

ð¬ð§
This is a proper mountain hike rather than a casual sightseeing walk.
However, the purpose of the event is to enjoy the mountains, not to hike as fast as possible.
You are welcome to take your time, enjoy the scenery, take photos and talk with other participants.
No professional or advanced mountaineering experience is required, but you should be comfortable with:
⢠Around 5â6 hours of mountain hiking
⢠Approximately 9 km of walking
⢠Around 990 m of elevation gain
⢠Sustained uphill and downhill walking
⢠Uneven and sometimes steep trails
⢠Wet or rocky terrain
⢠Several stream crossings
You should have enough fitness to walk for several hours and keep up with the group when necessary.
If you enjoy nature and can comfortably handle the physical demands of the hike, you're very welcome to join. ð¿

Rain can make the waterfalls and mountain streams especially impressive.
At the same time, water levels can rise and stream crossings can become difficult or unsafe.
If conditions are dangerous, the route may be changed or the event may be cancelled.
Safety comes first.
