インド人の友人にそう言われました。

いやいや、さすがにそれは言いすぎでしょ笑
日本にもインドカレー屋さんはたくさんあるし、ナンもカレーもあるし、普通に本格インドカレーを食べられるでしょ？
そう思って聞き返したら、彼はこう言いました。

「違うんだよ。日本の“インドカレー屋さん”って、実はほとんどネパール風なんだ。本物のインド家庭カレーとは全然違うよ。」

……え、そうなの？😳

その一言から、「じゃあ本物のインドカレーって何？」という話になり、今回は名古屋で本格インドカレーを一緒に作ることになったので、どうせなら皆でシェアしたいのでカレークッキングレッスンを開催することになりました🍛✨

今回作るのは、人気のバターチキンカレー。
インド人の友人と一緒に、スパイスの使い方、家庭での作り方、そしてインドの食文化に触れながら、本格インド家庭料理を体験します🇮🇳

That’s what our Indian friend told us.

Wait… what?
Japan has so many Indian curry restaurants. There’s curry, naan, spices, and everything. Surely that counts as real Indian curry, right?

But he said:
“Not really. Most so-called Indian curry restaurants in Japan are actually more Nepalese-style. Real Indian home-style curry is very different.”
That one sentence changed the whole conversation.
So we asked him, “Then what is real Indian curry?” 😳
And that’s how this event started.

This time, we’re hosting an authentic Indian curry cooking lesson in Nagoya, where we’ll cook real Indian home-style curry together with an Indian friend🍛✨

The featured dish is Butter Chicken Curry.
You’ll learn about real spices, home-style cooking methods, and the cultural story behind Indian curry while enjoying a friendly international meetup atmosphere🇮🇳
