🎃⛄ Halloween & Christmas "Hyotan (Gourd)" Crafting 🌟🎅

詳細
★ What's fun? ★
Have you ever crafted a jack-o-lantern or snowman of a gourd? If not, this could be your very good chance to give it a try! A gourd (hyotan in Japanese) is so fun to make a craft with!
What we will do is as simple as ABC. First, draw a pattern and then keep making holes with a woodworking gimlet(木工錐)and/or a soldering iron (はんだごて). The link below shows how to do the work:

And then, paint hyotan with a brush. It is totally up to you whether you make it for Halloween or Christmas, or both.
In this spring we, as members of a non-profit organization, opened a renovated guesthouse in Shiso city, Hyogo, which used to be a closed elementary school. The guesthouse is now decorated it with many hyotan lamps. Hyotan is a symbol of prosperity and good-luck. The name of our village, "Hanse (繁盛 in kanji)", means prosperity. So, we need many more hyotan goods for calling forth even more good fortunes.
The crafting itself is quite easy. You can do whatever design you like unless it seems to be "inappropriate" for school decoration. We would love to rely upon the creativities and playful minds of such good hearted people as you all.
< Make Two, Keep One Free >
EVERY TWO hyotan crafts you make, you can keep ONE. This is a FREE event with everything necessary prepared. More importantly hyotan crafting is very interesting. So, let us find out "boring" is actually nothing but fun!
