IQ Cafe - A Respectful Conversation about Abortion

アイデア＆クエスチョンカフェ、略してIQカフェは、人生において大切 なことを話したり、考えたりすることを目標としたインターナショナル な集まりです。アートとは？社会の中の貧しい人をケアするべきか？人 種差別や、性別による不公平さをどう考えるべきか？こう言った質問に ついて話し合うことを通して、私たちが何を信じ、どのように自分の意 見を持つかに自信を持つことができます。
Ideas & Questions Cafe (IQ Cafe) is an international community of people who want to think and discuss about things that matter in life. What is art? Should we care about the poor in society? How should we think about gender inequality & racism? These are the types of questions we want to engage with so we can be confident in what we believe and form our own opinion.

忙しい人生の中で、何かを深く考える時間を取ることができないと思っ た事はないでしょうか？人生の意味とは何かを考えた事はあるでしょう か？なぜこの世には苦しみがあるのか、神は存在するのかと考えた事は あるでしょうか？人生について深く考え、自分が何を信じるかを見つけ ることはとても大切な事です。IQカフェはあなたにとって大切な事を、 深く考える場所です。
Do you find it difficult through the business of life to spend time reflecting about deep things? Have you ever wondered how to find meaning in your life? Have you ever asked why there is suffering in the world or if God exists? It is important to think about the deep things in life and figure out for yourself what you believe. IQ Cafe is a place for you to think critically about things that matter.

IQカフェは、あらゆる議論を呼ぶテーマについて重要な議論を交わすための安全な場です。難しい問題について語り合う際も、お互いを尊重し合います。このイベントは広島で月に一度開催しています。今回のテーマは、おそらくこれまでで最も議論を呼び、意見が分かれるものとなるでしょう！中絶について語り合いましょう。日本では毎年数千件の中絶が行われています。これについてどう思いますか？考えたことはありますか？中絶は違法であるべきでしょうか？予期せぬ妊娠をした若い女性があなたに助言を求めてきたら、何と言いますか？

中絶に関する二つの主要な見解のいずれかを擁護するスピーカーを迎えます。その後、ディスカッションテーブルで賛成か反対かを表明できます。

この話題は激しい議論を招く可能性がありますが、私たちは互いをより深く理解するという善意をもって議論すべきだと信じています。熱い議論のテーマを、いかに平和的に議論できるかを世界に見せましょう！

IQ Cafe is a SAFE place for us to have important discussions on any controversial topic. We respect one another while speaking about hard issues. We do this event once per month in Hiroshima. The topic this time is possibly the single most controversial and divisive one we have ever done! Let's talk about abortion. Thousands of abortions take place in Japan annually. What do you think of this? Have you thought of it before? Should abortion be illegal? What would you say if a young woman asked for your advice after an unintended pregnancy?

We will have a speaker defend one of the two main views on abortion. Then at the discussion tables you can express whether you agree or disagree.

Though this topic can incite passionate and violent debate, we believe we must discuss such matters with the good intention of understanding one another better. Let's model a peaceful and respectful discussion on a fiery subject!
