Day hike to Mt. Katsuragi in Nara Prefecture

Mt. Katsuragi is usually ablaze with azaleas at this time of year. Despite being a little late in the season, we are hoping to catch some blossoms. However, even without blossoms it's a beautiful hike with fantastic views.
Meet at Kintetsu Abenobashi station, central entrance area at 09:30 a.m. We'll be taking a train at 09:50 to Tondabayashi, so please don't be late.
From Tondabayashi a bus will take us to the start of the hike and we'll begin hiking at 11:00 a.m. We expect to reach the summit of Katsuragi san (959m) by about 14:00. Our descent will be via the Kujira Waterfall and we expect to get to Kintetsu Gose train station by 17:00.
Please wear hiking clothes and boots and bring rainwear, lunch, snacks, 2L drinking water, sunscreen and insect repellant.
