Namba & Dotonbori Afternoon Photo Walk

Welcome to the inaugural outing of the International Photography Collective!

For our first meet-up, we are exploring the vibrant, textured streets of Namba and Dotonbori.

Starting in the Namba area allows us to capture the gritty, fascinating side-streets and local architecture in the full afternoon sun, before we make our way toward the canal just as the light begins to soften.

The Plan

• 2:00 PM: Meet & Greet. We’ll gather outside Namba Hips for quick introductions. Look for the host, Paolo, who will have a black Canon camera and a green beanie hat.
• 2:15 PM: Street Exploration. We’ll wander through the backstreets of Namba, focusing on textures, street life, and unique shadows.
• 3:30 PM: Toward the Canal. We’ll move toward Dotonbori to capture the iconic canal views and the bustling energy of the crowds.
• 4:30 PM: Wrap-up. For those interested, we can grab a coffee or a snack nearby to chat and swap Instagram handles!

What to bring

• Any camera: Whether it's a pro setup or your phone, it’s all about the eye, not the gear.
• Comfortable shoes: We’ll be walking roughly 2–3km at a leisurely pace.
• Warm layers: It’s February! Even with the sun out, it can get chilly once we’re near the water.
