【3Days】Explore Oita and cat island visit🐈 /大分の由布岳と深島散策

Let’s climb Mt. Yufu and visit a cat island 🐈 in Oita prefecture!

On Day 1, we will meet at Oita airport and head to Mt. Yufu and enjoy the hike. Mt. Yufu (Yufu-dake) is a mountain located in Oita Prefecture, and it has twin peaks; west and east peaks (seiho and toho) at its summit, with an old volcanic crater, named Ubagauji, directly under it. This mountain is also called “Bungo Fuji (Mt. Fuji of the Bungo region)” among the residents at the foothills. We will stay at a lodge near Yufu and enjoy BBQ.

Distance: Will walk about 7km
Duration: 5hours including 30min break
Elevation gain: 800m

On Day 2, we will drive a bit south and visit Fukashima island, where a hundred cats and about 10 people live together. We will take a ferry to reach the island. will head back to Beppu area in the evening and stay the night.

On Day 3, we will explore Yufu and Beppu areas. It’s time for cherry blossom 🌸 already in Oita so we will make some stops to enjoy them, too. After grabbing the dinner, we will head to the airport.

Feel free to extend your stay if you want to.

大分県で由布岳をハイキングしたり猫島🐈に行ってみよう！

1日目は大分空港で集合後、由布岳へ向かいハイキングを楽しみます。由布岳は大分県に位置する山で、頂上には西峰と東峰の二つの峰があり、その真下には「うばがうじ」と呼ばれる古い火口湖があります。山麓の住民からは「豊後富士」とも呼ばれています。由布岳近くのロッジに宿泊し、夜はBBQを楽しみます。

2日目は少し南へ車で移動し、100匹の猫と約10人が共生する深島を訪れます。島へはフェリーで渡ります。夕方には別府エリアに戻り、そこで宿泊します。温泉も近くにあります。

3日目は由布・別府エリアを散策。大分では既に桜の季節🌸ですので、途中桜の名所に立ち寄りながら花見も楽しみます。夕食後、空港へ向かいます。

Meeting point: Oita airport (you can take ANA791 or anything as long as you can make it to meeting point on time)

Participation fee: 34,000 yen

Including:

• 2 night accommodation (shared)
• BBQ dinner on day 1
• rental card for entire trip (gas, parking, tall, etc)
• organizing and planning fee

Not including:

• transportation between your home and meeting point.
• meals and admission fee to any facilities
