About the Trek

K2 Base Camp Trek is one of the world’s most spectacular high-altitude trekking adventures. The route follows the remote Baltoro Glacier through dramatic valleys and rugged peaks, leading to the foot of K2, the world’s second-highest mountain.
Trekkers cross vast glaciers, navigate rocky trails, and camp beneath some of the world’s highest mountains (8000metersl, including K2, Broad Peak, and the Gasherbrums.

Difficulty: Advance, requires high physical fitness,stamina and some mountaineering skills

• Trip time in Pakistan will be around 21 day
• Trekking distance 190KM
• Number of trekking days are around 13-15 (depending on weather and route ..)
• Highest elevation will be around 5200m to 5600 meters (if we are able to trek via Gondogoro La)
• Involves trekking through glaciers, use of crampons and ice axe on some sections.
• 6-8 hours of daily hiking (some
• days can be upto 10 hours)
• Porter to carry personal luggage of around 15KG
• You will carry own day pack with water, snacks and other small items you need during the day
• Can take shower on some days
• Stay during trekking will be in twin shared tents (single use possible with extra fee)

Rough schedule(TBD)

• Day1: Arrival in Islamabad Pakistan and overnight stay in Islamabad
• Day 2 Arrival in Skardu
• Day3-Day19 K2 base trekking
• Day20 Fly back to Islamabad
• Day21 departure from Islamabad

Cost

• I think total trip cost will be around 700000yen/per person ( lower or higher depending on various factors

• Following is rough breakdown of the cost

• Trek cost from Skardu and back to Skardu: 350000 Yen ( this is just a rough estimate, can be higher and lower depending on various factors, for example dedicated porter, single use tent, exchange rate, company we will be going with, number of people joining . You will pay the actual cost the trekking company will charge based on option we choose. This includes all expenses during trekking (food, accommodation, transportation…

• Return Flight from Japan to Pakistan: 120000~ 200000 yen

• Return Flight from Islamabad to Skardu 35000 yen

• Hotel stay in Islamabad and Skardu: 10000yen/night (can be much less or high depending on the hotel

• Per meal cost in Pakistan 700 yen / meal (can be much lower or higher depending on where we eat (during non trekking days)

• Planning and organizing : 10000yen/person (roughly equates to 500yen/per person per day

• Outdoor insurance which covers rescue costs

Participation

• We need to decide on dates, and make reservation with a trekking company as soon as possible to start different reservation, processes
• I will try to organize few hikes in Japan to prepare ourselves for this trek (both winter and summer hikes
