Join us for a journey back in time! Sumiyoshi Taisha is far from an average Japanese shrine. Founded over 1,800 years ago, it is one of the oldest and most important spiritual sites in all of Japan.
For locals in Osaka, this is the most popular choice in the city for Hatsumode (the first shrine visit of the year), as it is famously known as an incredibly powerful "power spot" for protection and luck.
What makes it truly special?

### Agenda
- 11:00 AM: Meet at Nankai Sumiyoshi Taisha Station (East Exit) for introductions.
- 11:10 AM: Walk to the shrine and begin our guided cultural exploration.
- 12:30 PM: Finish the shrine visit.
After the tour, we’ll head to nearby Sumiyoshi Park. You can try the famous dango (sweet rice dumplings) at an elegant local Dango-ya or explore the nearby nostalgic traditional shopping street!
### What to Bring
- Comfortable Shoes: We will be walking on gravel and stone paths.
- Coins for Prayer: There are several spots to pray; if you want to visit them all, about 10 coins should be enough. 5-yen coins are considered lucky because their name (Go-en) sounds like the Japanese word for "good connection."
- Curiosity: Since this is a pilot run, we’d love to hear your questions and thoughts!
