You're invited to visit our small but active Toastmasters Club located in the centre of Sydney CBD, near Wynyard Station.

We meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month
Time: 7:35am for 7:45am start
Duration: 1 hour – finished by 8:50am

If you are looking for a safe and supportive way to improve your leadership and public speaking skills while meeting friendly new people and enjoying a warm and social atmosphere - you've come to the right place.

Our club is open to all visitors. We are currently meeting online via Webex due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We meet fortnightly on alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. At our meetings, members participate in both prepared and impromptu speaking opportunities. As a guest you will be invited to participate in some speaking opportunities if you wish to do so. You do not need to bring anything to our meetings.

Westpac Cultural Leadership Toastmasters was formed in 2016 to assist all members of the community to build their self confidence and self esteem through public speaking. Through a mixture of prepared and off-the-cuff speaking opportunities, combined with positive evaluations and suggestions for improvement, our club helps take the fear out of public speaking. Our club looks forward to your next virtual visit.

This club is open to all visitors. We are currently meeting online via Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We meet every second Wednesday. Meetings are held from 12:15pm to 1:30pm.

Not only that, it sits right across the street of Apple shop.

2. At lunchtime and Ideal location, in the middle of city, right opposite Apple shop.
   This means you don’t need to stay here after 1 hour.

3. A duration of 1-hour club meeting,
   The better return on investment, same training formula in 1/2 or 1/3 of time, compared to normal clubs which have 2 - 3 hour club meeting.

What does a typical meeting look like?

First half is people giving speeches out of their pathways program to progress through the certifications. You are then given feedback in a positive way after the speech

Table topics where we have impromptu speeches where we pick random topics and everyone has the opportunity to participate with 1 minute speeches. Then there is feedback for all afterwards.
There is a general review where we give general feedback, get guest feedback, share who went over and under time as well as share how many ums and ah’s people said
Key point is this is a supportive safe space where everyone makes mistakes, is happy to learn and give and receive feedback.

At Telstra Sydney Toastmasters Club our mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. This is all done in a relaxed and fun environment.

What makes our club unique:
Initially a Telstra employee corporate club, we are now an open club welcoming to non-Telstra employees. We meet at 400 George Street, Sydney and online.
Our club was recognised in 2020 as being a president distinguished club. This is the highest accolade that Toastmasters International gives to it’s clubs. It is an assurance to you that we run great meetings providing growth opportunities to all of our members.
Most other club toastmasters meetings are 2 hours but we condense this into a more frequent 1 hour meeting to allow you time to attend during your lunch.
