Philosophical walk: Gokurakujido's Garden of Paradise

Shitennoji Temple is one of Japan’s oldest temple’s in Osaka and it houses a unique Japanese garden called “Gokuraku-Jodo Garden” and also a dry rock garden called the “Fudaraku Garden.” Shitennoji Temple is the first and only temple ever built by the state in 593 by Prince Shotoku. He is credited with being the person responsible for spreading Buddhism throughout Japan.
It is quiet and beautiful, with a lovely stream and majestic, drooping trees, beautiful during cherry blossom season. Walking in nature and talking to yourself is a method that ancient philosophers also used to do. Why not walk among the trees in the beautiful garden and dialogue with yourself by thinking of a favorite quote?

2. you will be asked to choose one quote from a collection of quotes by Eastern and Western philosophers that we will provide (or you may bring your own favorite philosopher's quote).
(Or you may bring your own favorite philosopher's quote.)
3. we will walk in the nature, thinking about the quote and asking each other questions. 4. at the end of the walk, we will exchange our thoughts and exchange ideas.

四天王寺は大阪にある日本最古の寺院のひとつで、「極楽浄土庭園」と呼ばれるユニークな日本庭園と「補陀落庭園」と呼ばれる枯山水の庭園がある。四天王寺は、593年に聖徳太子によって建立された最初で唯一の寺院である。聖徳太子は仏教を日本中に広めた人物とされている。

静かで美しく、素敵な小川と雄大で垂れ下がった木々があり、桜の季節は美しい。自然の中を歩き自分と対話するのは、古代の哲学者も行っていた手法です。美しい庭の樹木を歩きながら、好きな名言を考えてご自身と対話してみませんか？
イベントの流れ

2. こちらで用意する東洋と西洋の哲学者の名言集からひとつ選んでいただきます。
(あるいはご自身のお好きな哲学者の名言をお持ちいただいても結構です)
3. その言葉について考えたり、質問し合ったりしながら自然の中を歩きます。
4. 最後に考えをまとめて、意見を交換しましょう。
