Welcome to the Koenji Chess Club!
No registration required, all levels welcome.
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. Check the event page and follow us on Instagram at @koenji.chess for more details and updates.
Meeting at The Den in Koenji from 6 PM to 10 PM, but feel free to pop in and out anytime.
No need to bring anything. I have 8 tournament-style vinyl boards with triple-weighted pieces, which is hard to get in Japan!
1,000 yen entry, which includes a drink.
The Den is a smash burger and craft beer bar located on the other side of the covered 'shotengai' shopping street 1 minute away from Koenji station JR, 2 stops from Shinjuku.
The burgers are fantastic, so come hungry. Walk up to the 3rd floor directly to find one of the organizers, usually James or Joanne to get a ticket.
