KHG Base Camp clean-up + garden (level zero)

It's happing, KHG Base Camp!

A place to hang out.
Starting point. Finishing point. Mountains. Lake.
A safe haven away from the city. :)

The place definitely needs a thorough clean and a lot is to be done on the garden.
This is all on a voluntary basis.

I won't be paying you any salary but it would be a fun day of action. :)

Base Camp location
KHG BC is 10 minutes on foot from Kita-Komatsu station.
The google map location leads you to Base Camp.

We meet at Kita-Komatsu station at 10.
Late-comers can get to Base Camp by themselves.

**No toilet, no running water, no electricity...yet**
As of now, the toilet is not operational.
There is no running water and no electricity.

We can get drinking water from the local shrine (Juge Jinja)
We can use the toilet at Kita Komatsu station. (10 minute walk so plan carefully)
Bring external batteries for your phone.

What to do?

House indoor
Clean floor, kitchen, windows, window sills, furniture, etc.
Above ceiling, take away old wasps nest....brrr... I'll do this;) (See YouTube video)

Below floor...Can we find a trap door to access the space below?

Outdoor garden
Cut and trim trees, bamboo, clear away small debris and fire wood. Make a new fence by using bamboo.

Meet the neighbors
Since this will be a community space, it's very important to be on good terms with the neighbors.

In case you see a neighbor passing by or showing some interest, please say 'hello' and invite them in for a coffee or chat.

Good relationships with the local community is super important to build something.

Obviously, most of them will speak Japanese so talking to them in Japanese would be a good ice-breaker. I will prepare some welcome gifts. :)

Drinks, snack and lunch
I will prepare some drinks and snacks. I'll also bring a stove to prepare some cup noodles. I'm not able to offer much since there is no functional kitchen yet.

Questions I have:
How to best clean the tatami mats?
In need to call companies to replace gas canisters, empty toilet, connect water and get electricity. Any Japanese and English speakers that can help?
How to get rid of small trash? Pick up dates?
How to get rid of large trash? Who to call?

Not everything can be done at once. If you just want to help for a little bit, arrive or leave early, that's ok too. Hopefully the weather will be good so we can finish at the lake.
