Start-Ed: free legal expertise and networking for Tokyo Startups

詳細
Please note that ABC have two business centres in the Shibuya area. The one we are using is called Shibuya-Higashi.
The next Start-Ed session is scheduled to take place on Friday 7th November from 7pm in Room 301, ABC At Business Centre, Nadori Building 3rd Floor, Shibuya 2-22-8, Shibuya-ku.
At this event, we hope to have Japanese patent attorneys, a lawyer or two and an experienced, bilingual accountant. We hope to be able to answer general startup questions relating to company formation, contracts and intellectual property.
If you are an entrepreneur or small business/startup owner, and would like to attend to have a chat with one or all of the professional advisors, please RSVP.
Start-Ed is a not for profit organization, but there is a cost associated with renting the venue for this event. Accordingly, we have a small cover charge of ¥1,000 per person (this includes some free soft drinks and snacks).
Each month we will have different advisors with different areas of expertise. We will also look to engage students from different Tokyo universities who will learn from assisting Tokyo-based startups.
Please be aware that our experts are experienced advisors in their chosen field, and have a wide variety of qualifications. While some of them are qualified to advise on legal issues here in Japan, others have experience working in Japan but are licensed to practice in other jurisdictions such as in Europe or North America. In our sessions, we strive to ensure that all conversations we have are with attendees are worthwhile and that the feedback we provide is genuinely useful for their business, but this feedback is in the form of general thoughts and ideas rather than specific tailored legal advice.
