グループの特徴

SMACjp (Social MeetUp & Activity Community Japan) started in 2014 in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka with the goal of enriching the foreign community and bridge the gap that existed between them and the Japanese people there. In 2016, another community began in Nagoya, Aichi; and finally it's newest group started in Fukuoka City in 2017. Many Japanese people want to study a language and learn a culture but they are often too shy to make it happen. Conversely, foreigners are the same! Many foreigners in Japan want to practice Japanese with natives and learn more about Japan, but they often don't because of fear of being judged. SMAC is a NO JUDGE ZONE where we hope to bridge the gap for all people in Japan. Our dream is to make an open and fun network for anyone living or traveling in Japan. Let's build the community together!

Hey beautiful people at O-SMAC! This is a friendly, welcoming Japanese and English language exchange event that is a collaboration between SMAC events in Japan and CanAsian Station group in Toronto. Our goal is to promote cultural awareness and bridge cross-cultural gaps by encouraging people to learn and share language, and come to understand how to think in a new way, with new words.

We connect members from 6 groups from Canada and Japan together, giving us an opportunity to meet many new people, form connections, and learn more about the world from others. Typically, our participants have some background knowledge and can speak some degree of English or Japanese.
However, please don't be discouraged from attending even if you are a complete beginner! Our lovely members are extremely supportive and attentive to those who are truly willing to try to be open-minded and learn the language.
