**¿Qué es esta tradición en México?**
La tamaliza del Día de la Candelaria es la consecuencia oficial de haber sacado el muñequito en la Rosca de Reyes.
Básicamente:

* El 6 de enero jugaste a la ruleta del Niño Dios.
* Si te salió, debes poner los tamales para el día de la Candelaria.
* Es la excusa perfecta para reunirse, comer como si no hubiera mañana y decir “el próximo año me desquito”.

Hay tamales de verde, rojo, mole, dulce, y siempre aparece el héroe inesperado que trae tamales oaxaqueños envueltos en hoja de plátano.

En resumen: tradición, culpa compartida, maíz en todas sus formas y felicidad colectiva.

We extend an invitation from the Brompton Club of Mexico City to the traditional “Tamaliza” for Día de la Candelaria.
**What is this tradition in Mexico?**
The Día de la Candelaria tamaliza is the official consequence of finding the little figurine in the Rosca de Reyes.
Basically:
On January 6th, you played the Baby Jesus roulette.
If you got it, you are responsible for bringing the tamales on Día de la Candelaria.
It is the perfect excuse to get together, eat as if there were no tomorrow, and say “next year, it’s not my turn.”
There are green, red, mole, and sweet tamales, and there is always an unexpected hero who shows up with Oaxacan tamales wrapped in banana leaves.
In short: tradition, shared guilt, corn in all its forms, and collective happiness.

We will have a picnic, so bring something to share. Let’s avoid single-use items, so please bring your own cup, glasses, and utensils. Get your Brompton ready and we will see you at the Second Section of Chapultepec Forest. Arrive directly to the spot.

Try Brompton is a Brompton experience ride for those considering purchasing a Brompton. The purpose of this ride is to deepen your understanding of Brompton bikes, ride courses designed to fully enjoy Bromptons, rediscover the city, experience new ways to enjoy it, and experience the lifestyle that comes with owning a Brompton. We guide participants through folding techniques and shifting the internal gear hub—a common source of confusion for first-time riders—while riding. By comparing different bikes, we help riders deeply understand each model's characteristics, supporting them in making an informed choice and purchase.

Brompton Friday's Test Drive

An intermediate, social adventure cycling ride for NYC-area cyclists celebrating Margarita Day; ends with a margarita and tacos at a Mexican restaurant.

**Intro:** On Sunday Feb 22, we will be celebrating National Margarita Day 2026. This tradition dates back to February 22 2009 for passionate fans of the drink that wanted it during the winter. That tradition is celebrated around the nation and BromptonNYC will do the same. Expect a nice day of social adventure cycling ending with food and drinks.

**Meetup:** We will meet in front of the Maine Monument in Central Park, by Columbus Circle. This is the large fountain at the corner where Central Park West and South meet. Please be on time as wheels up is 11:15am. We will not wait for anyone and you will be responsible for catching up.

**The Ride:** This ride will be classified at the intermediate level. Although there is not much elevation, riders should be comfortable riding in an urban environment and along traffic at certain sections. Although not the longest ride, we will have two points of interests along the way. The first will be Rykers Island. Yes, we will stop just outside Rykers Island. The second will be at LGA Airport for a restroom break. For those that seek a little adventure and off the beaten path, well you found it.The distance is around 15 miles. The ride will terminate at Coatzingo. Train service is available to the city across the street.

**The Venue:** We will be hosted again by our friends at Taqueria Coatzingo in Jackson Heights Queens. This authentic Mexican establishment has worked out a Margarita and Taco special. The price will be $20USD per person which includes a Margarita and choice of 2 tacos. The venue prefers cash as it's easier for their operation. Their ATMs located nearby.

Safety: Helmets are required and lights highly recommended.
