Curious about **brioche knitting** but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly class is designed to demystify brioche and help you build confidence stitch by stitch.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to knit brioche flat while creating a simple practice scarf made specifically for learning the technique. We’ll cover both one-color and two-color brioche, giving you a solid foundation and plenty of time to practice with guidance along the way. By the end of class, you’ll understand how brioche works, how to read the fabric, and how to keep going on your own.

**You’ll learn:**
\*How brioche knitting is constructed
\*One-color brioche worked flat
\*Two-color brioche worked flat
\*Tips for fixing common beginner mistakes and building confidence

**What to bring:**
\*US 6 circular knitting needles
\*Two skeins of DK-weight yarn in contrasting colors (one light and one dark works best)

You’re welcome to arrive early to pick out supplies from the shop or grab a coffee, tea, or other cozy refreshment from the café before class begins. We recommend coming a little ahead of time if you need yarn or needles so you’re ready to jump right in at 1 PM.

**Prerequisites:** Participants should already be comfortable with knit and purl stitches, slipping stitches, yarn overs

Brandy has been knitting for nearly 20 years and has spent the last 6 years teaching brioche at yarn shops. When she’s not knitting, she’s a senior software developer and an avid costumer, bringing both precision and creativity to her teaching style.

Join designer and educator **Elizabeth Margaret (One Wild Designs)** for an interactive, conversational deep dive into the what, how, and *why* of swatching and blocking, for both **knitters and crocheters.** Elizabeth will share practical tips, real-life examples, and a brief blocking demonstration, along with the rare and magical moments when you *can* skip a swatch (yes, really).

This workshop is open to all levels and welcomes curious questions. No supplies are required, but you’re welcome to bring yarn and needles/hooks to swatch along, or a current project you’d like guidance on.

You’ll leave feeling confident, informed, and empowered to make better-fitting, better-looking projects without the guesswork.

Elizabeth Margaret is a St. Pete local by way of NYC and the designer behind *One Wild Designs*. She’s been knitting and crocheting since childhood and has published over 50 patterns since 2020. Elizabeth has taught technique and fit workshops in yarn shops across the country and online, helping makers of all levels feel more confident in their craft.

Swatching & Blocking Basics Class

Beginner-friendly needle felting workshop for ages 15+, where you’ll finish a hand-felted bunny and learn basic felting techniques.

Join us for a cozy, beginner-friendly needle felting workshop where you’ll create the **cutest hand-felted bunny from scratch**, no prior experience required. This hands-on class is the perfect introduction to needle felting and a delightful way to explore working in 3D with fiber.

Guided step-by-step by local fiber artist Denise Povolish, you’ll learn essential needle felting techniques including shaping wool, attaching details, blending colors, and adding personality to your piece. Along the way, Denise will share tips, tricks, and insights to help you build confidence and spark ideas for future felting projects.

All materials are provided, just bring your curiosity and creativity. You’ll leave with an adorable finished bunny and the skills to keep felting at home. As a fun bonus, **one lucky participant will win a special giveaway** during class!
