Join us for a creative Hanfu portrait photography session in Melbourne, designed for photographers who enjoy artistic portraiture, traditional Chinese aesthetics, and collaborative image-making.

This is a **collaborative photography session rather than a commercial project**. The focus is on creative exploration, portfolio development, shared experience and creating strong images together in a relaxed group environment.

The session will feature **five models**, each presented through different Hanfu-inspired concepts exploring their own colour palette, mood, styling and visual character. The concepts provide an overall creative direction, while photographers are encouraged to interpret them through their own photographic style.

Photographer numbers will be carefully managed to maintain a comfortable 1:2 or 1:3 photographer-to-model ratio, ensuring everyone has reasonable time and space to work collaboratively with the models.

The participation fee is based on shared session costs and contributes towards studio hire, model appreciation fees, makeup, clothing and styling, event organisation, and the overall production of the session.
Photographers are welcome to bring props, flowers, fabrics or other creative elements if they have a particular visual effect in mind. The session is intended to be collaborative rather than highly scripted, allowing photographers room to experiment with posing, composition, lighting and visual storytelling. Broad creative direction and an overall visual concept will be provided to help maintain a consistent artistic approach throughout the session.

Photographers are encouraged to work collaboratively and respectfully with the models and other participants throughout the session. Shooting rotations and group arrangements may be used to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to photograph the models.

This creative session is designed for photographers and photography enthusiasts interested in exploring fine art collaborative photography and creating distinctive artistic images for their personal portfolio and photography profile.

**What the Session Includes**
• Professional studio environment
• Experienced fine art figure models
• Selected creative lighting setups, with photographers also encouraged to bring their own suitable lighting equipment or modifiers
• A range of fine art concepts, mood references and broad visual directions provided prior to the session
• Initial guidance around lighting, posing and the overall direction of each setup
• General posing and creative guidance where required
• Opportunities for photographers to communicate and work directly with the models
• Freedom to explore individual composition, framing, lighting and photographic style, within each model’s agreed boundaries and the tasteful fine art direction of the session
Broad creative direction and an overall visual concept will be prepared for each setup.

However, the session is primarily collaborative and photographer-led, allowing both the photographer and model to contribute creatively to the final images.

**Creative Collaboration**
The focus of the session is on the collaborative outcome — bringing together the photographer’s visual interpretation, the model’s posing and expression, studio lighting, styling and the surrounding creative environment.
Photographers are encouraged to communicate with the models, experiment with different approaches and develop their own interpretation of each concept rather than simply reproducing a predetermined image.

The resulting photographs can contribute to both the photographer’s portfolio and profile and the model’s creative portfolio, creating work that reflects the artistic contribution of everyone involved.

This is a creative photography session rather than a heavily structured photography class. Participants should therefore have a basic understanding of their own camera and be comfortable working collaboratively with a model in a studio environment.

**Important**
This session may include artistic figure and nude posing as part of selected fine art concepts. The exact level and style of posing will always remain within each model’s agreed boundaries and the overall fine art direction of the session.

All participants are expected to maintain a professional, respectful and collaborative approach throughout the session.
Images may be used for personal photography portfolios, photography profiles and social media, subject to the agreed model image-usage conditions.
