Sunshine Adventure Hike 11/6: Golden Gate Mountain 🥾☀️⛰️

Let’s enjoy a fun and moderately challenging adventure hike near Gates Pass! We will be hiking the Golden Gate Mountain via the Yetman Trail.

The trail is a 2.3 mile out and back, with a total of 1302 feet of elevation according to AllTrails, very short and very steep! Similar to Sombrero Peak: lots of elevation and some scrambling, with a beautiful view as a reward at the top.

As for all of our adventure hikes, we will be staying together as much as possible, but if things get challenging, please go at your own pace. Please be prepared to turn around and head back safely if that is the case.

We will convene at the trailhead at 6:50am for introductions and begin our hike at 7:00am. Expect to return to the parking lot by 10:00am if you stay with the main group.

There is no charge for parking, please be careful driving the windy roads by Gates Pass to get there.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful for the rocky incline and decline.

The weather forecast right now calls for 58 degrees at the start and 71 degrees by the time we finish, great hiking weather! (This trail is completely exposed to the sun, just FYI)
