Mikako Nakagami Japanese Ink Painting Solo Exhibition “Things Only They Can See”

This solo exhibition by Mikako Nakagami presents a poetic series of sumi ink paintings that blend traditional Japanese brushwork with abstract calligraphy. Titled “Things Only They Can See,” the show explores the quiet, spiritual presence that animals seem to sense—but that remains invisible to us.

The latest works focus on cats, who appear especially attuned to this unseen world. Through their silent gestures and gaze, Nakagami invites viewers to reconnect with a delicate and sacred “something” beyond the visible.
