August Meeting - Womenomics

This month's meeting will focus on the directives of the Womenomics - what the motivations are, how effective the policies have been so far, how beneficial to women the policies are, how engaged in gender equality Japanese society is. These are some of the questions that can be raised concerning the topic.

For our continued-based studies on gender, we will start with Judith Butler, book "Gender Trouble", chapter 1 "Subjects of Sex/Gender/Desire" (feel free to read it in English or Nihongo).

The theoretical material from the field of Gender Studies is essential to formalize our understandings of the contemporary issues society faces, and give instruments to design appropriate actions.
