English Bible Reading & Discussion (Ryougoku) - Mark 8:27-10:52

First timers are welcome! Basically, we read the Bible and discuss. We ask wondering questions and we are open-minded about ideas and impressions.

We try to remind each other of some strategies for reading the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. We follow the Tanakh order of the Hebrew Bible because there's a lot of fruit that comes from reading according to its genre and original order. The Bible has 5 parts in this scheme: Torah (Teaching), Nevi'im (Prophets), Ketuvim (Writings), Gospels (Good News that Jesus is King) and the Letters.

We are reading the Good News according to Mark, keeping the Torah and Nevi'im in mind. Here's the schedule:
Jan 5 - Mark 1:1-13 & Intro to the Gospels
Jan 12 - Mark 1:14 - 8:26
Jan 19 - Mark 8:27 - 10:52
Jan 26 - Mark 11-13
Feb 2 - Mark 14-15
Feb 9 - Mark 16

We are a community that follows King Jesus. We recognize his life, death and resurrection, and that he is our King. And he has called us to partner with him to create a more loving and just society.

私たちは、イエスへと至る一つの物語として聖書を読むためのいくつかの方法をお互いに思い出させようと努めています。ヘブライ語聖書のタナク順序に従います。ジャンルと原典順序に沿って読むことで多くの実りがあるからです。この体系では聖書は5部構成です：トーラー（教え、ネヘミヤ記）、トーラー（教え）、ネビーム（預言者書）、ケトゥビーム（書物）、福音書（イエスが王であるという良き知らせ）、そして書簡。

1月26日 - マルコによる福音書11章-13章
2月2日 - マルコによる福音書14章-15章
2月9日 - マルコによる福音書16章
