Mt. Kobo Park offers an amazing view of Mt. Fuji on a clear day and a canopy of cherry blossoms in the spring.

Hadano Sakura Michi stretches 6.2 km and is lined with hundreds of cherry trees. There are more cherry trees along the riverbank in front of the Hadano Culture Park and during the Hadano Sakura Festival, these trees will be illuminated from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

OUR ROUTE:
The trickiest part to this day hike is finding the start of the trail. The trail starts off behind a small residential area, and is easily overlooked.

Once arriving at Hadano station, hikers should exit out of the north exit and follow the road straight, walking across two large roads before turning right. At the next major intersection, hikers should then turn left, going over a small bridge that leads straight to the entrance. It is about a 25 minute walk from the station.

The entrance has a small sign and is not well-marked. However, it is across from a large Toys 'R' Us.

Once on the trail, there is quite a steep hill at first. Keep trekking, and soon hikers will come across the first of a few picnic sites. Continuing on, the trail meanders through the woods until reaching a second stopping area. At this point, there are conveniently three toilets cleverly shaped like trees. Hikers must cross a small road before continuing on the trail.

Climbing over the crest of the hill, hikers are greeted with the two-story viewing structure, offering spectacular views of Mt. Fuji, Hadano, and Sagami Bay.

Koboyama Park, at the top of Mt Kobo (235m), has lots of sakura trees (plus, if you’re lucky, Mt Fuji views). The path running from the top of Mt. Kobo to adjacent Mt. Gongen is also lined with cherry trees and the Mt. Gongen Observation Deck and Mt. Kobo Plaza may also be illuminated depending on the time we are there.

At this point we will turn around and return towards Hadano station the way we came, via Sakura Michi and Hadano Culture Park.

After the event, you may submit a review/evaluation. Please kindly rate appropriately as a low evaluation has an impact on the group. Things you should clearly understand in advance:

  1. I (Mark) am not a tour guide. For many events this will also be my first time, and events are mainly organised based on intensive internet research.
  2. Nature cannot be guaranteed, so flower festivals may be impacted by the recent climate.
  3. We aim to depart on time, however bus schedules might change. This is unavoidable.
  4. We request participants arrive EARLY. In rare cases we might wait a few minutes if we do not need to take a bus.
  5. The number of participants is not guaranteed. However we will not have large groups.
  6. The event finish time might be earlier or later than advertised. The hiking time might be longer/shorter than anticipated. Return bus times are not guaranteed.

How to calculate your review appropriately:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars) = Everything was as described.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars) = The event was generally ok, but there were a few things that you weren't happy with (please provide further details).
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 stars) = The event was disappointing (please provide further details).
⭐️⭐️ (2 stars) = The event was poor (please provide further details).
⭐️ (1 star) = The event was terrible (please provide further details).
