🏞️ Trip Details
This day trip takes us to Mt Tsukuba, one of the most famous mountains in the Kanto region and long known as the home of the legendary frog oil. The mountain is full of strange rock formations with their own stories, and it has 2 summits, Nantai Peak and Nyotai Peak. From the top you can enjoy wide views over the Kanto plain and even see distant peaks on a clear day.
We will hike through forest trails and granite boulders, enjoy both summits, and explore the beautiful shrine area. There is also an option to take the cable car on the way down for anyone who prefers a more relaxed finish. If the timing works out we may be able to catch the famous frog oil show, a local performance that has been part of the mountain culture for many years. There maybe time at the end for an onsen.
🍱 What to Bring
• Comfortable hiking shoes and a small backpack
• Warm clothes for the afternoon as temperatures can drop quickly
