Hike Mt. Azagemaru (Hard for beginners)

Hiking course of ~6 hours with some time for lunch and breaks. Elevation change is about 740m so beginners will find this to be hard difficulty. Mt. Azegamaru is 1292m tall.

Don’t be late: The next bus 1 hour later!

We have 2 possibilities for this hike. We can hike at a good pace and not stop too much to catch the 15:47 bus back or we take our time and catch the 17:11 bus. If you join this hike, you will have to be flexible with the choice on the day of the hike because it will depend on our group and weather and scenery. You can also go on your own if you want to do something different from the group.

Rough schedule:
8:20 - Meet at Odakyu line Shin-Matsuda Station north exit
8:25 - Bus leaves. If you can’t catch this bus, don’t try to catch up because the next bus 1 hour later. ¥1360.
9:36 - Nishi-Tanzawa Visitor Center
12:45 - Mt. Azegamaru but we might get here later if we take a detour to the 2 waterfalls along the way.
15:45 - Otakibashi (大滝橋) bus stop. If we decide to take it slow, we will catch the 17:11 bus. ¥1280.
17:00 - Shin-Matsuda station

• No smoking and no bear bell(s).
• This is my first time hiking this course so please be patient.
• I have no survival or first aid skills and you are in charge of your own safety.
• Bring 1.0-1.5L of water/soft drink and a lunch. Bring more water if you think you will need it.
• Weather can change unexpectedly, so dress in layers.
• I recommend a towel in case you get sweaty or dirty.
• No meetup fee thanks to Liliya (group owner).
• If the weather forecast looks bad, I will cancel the hike.
