Sakura & Ridgeline Hike - Minoge to Mt. Kobo (Medium for Beginners)
詳細
Hiking course of ~6.5 hours, which includes time for lunch and breaks. Elevation change isn’t much but you will be on your feet for a long time so I am calling it a medium difficulty for beginners. Experienced hikers may find this to be medium or easy.
Here's the rough schedule:
Meet at Hadano station 2nd floor outside ticket gate.
9:20 - Meet at Hadano station 2nd floor outside ticket gate.
9:30 - Bus to Minoge (Don’t be late: Next bus is 10:30)
9:52 - Minoge. Toilet available.
10:00 - Sakura-tominiji no Wakuwaku Hiroba (桜とみにじのわくわく広場) ~312m. It was past bloom when I went last year but I want to give it another try.
11:30 - 浅間山 Sengenyama 680m elevation. Lunch option 1
12:45 - 高取山 556m. Lunch option 2.
14:00 - 念仏山 Nenbutsuyama 347m. We’ll look for Yatonoatama before this and Zebayama (300m) right after this.
15:00 - 弘法山 Koboyama 235m. You can stay here longer if you want to find your own way back to the station. There will be many people visiting this mountain this day so I’m sure you can find someone to ask for help if you get lost.
16:30 - Hadano station. This arrival time depends on how long people stay to take pictures along the way.

Notes:
- No smoking and no bear bell(s). I know there is a concern about increased bear attacks around Japan, but bells have not been shown to be consistently effective. Group conversation and walking sounds are said to be better deterrents.
- By coming to this event, you are agreeing that you are responsible for your own safety. I have no survival or first aid skills.
- Bring 1.0-1.5L of water/soft drink and a lunch. Bring more water if you think you will need it.
- Weather can change unexpectedly, so dress in layers.
- I recommend a towel in case you get sweaty or dirty. Your shoes will get dirty.
- No meetup fee thanks to Liliya (group owner).
- If the weather forecast looks bad, I will cancel the hike.
