Who am I?
I’ve been working as a data scientist for a large tech startup for one year.
I used to be a shopkeeper at a mobile phone shop, so it wasn’t easy to jump in to my current career.
What kept me highly motivated was the relationship with people.
I joined quite a few tech meetups and got encouraged by the people I met.
Now that I’ve succeeded in changing careers, and I want to build a community which encourages members to make efforts continuously so that they can improve their own careers.

What would help?
It’s sometimes difficult to keep learning and trying by one’s own.
You might be able to keep your motivation through interaction with peers. Also they may give you a big picture you’ve never imagined.
Why this meetup, instead of others?
As I mentioned, I didn’t start my careers with a tech job such as software engineer or any other related positions. I terribly understand how it’s hard to change careers, especially from a completely different business. I believe the existing members are sharing such a tough spirit with me.

Why now?
I guess many of you are working for a company. Whether you’re already an engineer or not, it’s quite hard to broaden your perspective without interacting with an external community.

Participation Fee
First time: 300 yen
From the second time: 700 yen
This event requires a prepayment. Please make your payment via [Paypal] to secure your spot(details will be provided after RSVP). Only those who have paid in advance will be admitted. In addition, participants are expected to make a purchase from the venue.

What if the event is canceled due to unexpected circumstances?
Refund will be done on the day the cancellation is decided.

We’ve kept our events free for the past year, and built a great community.
To keep things sustainable and respectful of everyone’s time and effort, we’ve now added a small fee.
